Great Elementary Schools

Randolph Central
is home to Randolph
County’s only
neighborhood-based elementary schools, allowing students to attend school closer
to home in smaller schools, all under 300 in enrollment.

All kindergarten
classes are full-day programs.

Deerfield Elementary School was named a Title-I Top Ten School by the Indiana
Department of Education in 2008.

Baker Elementary School is a primary school, focusing entirely on early grade
education.

Willard Elementary School is home to an outstanding gifted and talented

All Randolph
Central elementary schools are affiliated with CLASS, a professional
development model that promotes brain-compatible learning methods.

A Great Middle School
·
Lee L. Driver
Middle School is one of only a few middle schools in East Central
Indiana to use teaming, helping students to effectively transition from
elementary school to high school.

Driver Middle School is one of the pioneer CLASS schools in Indiana.
·
Driver Middle School’s curriculum includes separate reading and writing
classes taught in writing laboratories, each equipped with thirty computers.
·
Driver Middle School hosts many events to connect students with the
community. These include a spring
musical, grandparents/pioneer day, Veterans’ Day, and others.
·
Middle School
students can participate in any number of eleven athletic teams, as well as
instrumental and choral music. There are
many other extracurricular clubs, as well.
A Great High School
·
Winchester Community High School
has been named a “Best Buy School”
and “Honor Roll School”
for each of the last six years by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
·
Winchester
Community High School has the broadest curriculum of any high school in
Randolph County, including physics, advanced placement courses in English,
calculus, environmental science, and United States history, college credit
English, two world languages, visual arts, instrumental and choral music,
family and consumer sciences, computer assisted drafting and design, technology
education, and vocational agriculture.

At Winchester Community High School,
students may participate in many extracurricular activities. These include FCCLA, National Honor Society,
academic superbowl teams, FFA, Model Legislature, earth
club, art club, STAND, and others.

Each year, for
more than forty years, Winchester
Community High
School has presented highly-acclaimed Broadway
musicals in the school’s 1000 seat auditorium, one of the largest in the area.
·
Winchester Community High School’s
band, the Force, includes Randolph
County’s only marching
band program.
·
Winchester Community High School offers fifteen IHSAA sports. Randolph Central is home to all four of Randolph County’s IHSAA mental attitude award
winners: three in boys’ basketball and
one in volleyball. In recent years,
teams have won three semi-states and six regionals in
boys’ basketball as well as a regional in volleyball. The girls’ basketball program has also been
very successful, and cheerleading has won two state championships. Winchester’s
football program was the first in Randolph
County, starting in 1946. Winchester’s
wrestling program in 2009 produced East Central Indiana’s only individual state
champion in the last decade.
