If you are new to Deerfield Elementary, we are thrilled to welcome your family to our school. In addition, we would like to invite you to become active in our P.T.O. (Parent Teacher Organization). For parents who are already a part of the Deerfield family, we want you to know that it is never too late to get involved!
Our Deerfield Parent Teacher Organization is made up of parents, teachers, and administrators who meet to organize activities and opportunities for the student body. The meetings are open to any parent, teacher, or administrator.
The Deerfield P.T.O. organizes a fall fundraiser, a chili supper, Bingo for Books, and a spring carnival. We also help with outdoor education, provide funds to individual classroom teachers for needed supplies, support convocations, purchase playground equipment and computer software, and much more!
A calendar including Deerfield P.T.O. meeting dates is posted on our school website and was handed out at registration. We encourage you to participate in as many meetings as possible. If coming to all of the meetings sounds intimidating, just begin by attending one!
The best way to stay in the P.T.O. loop is to attend a meeting. However, if this is not possible, there is a whiteboard located in the main hallway that lists upcoming P.T.O. events, dates, and times. In addition, Mrs. Miller's monthly newsletters and the school website are great ways to stay informed.
